FAQs LIP BLUSH

Do not drink caffeine (coffee/tea/soda/energy drinks, etc.) or alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment. Consuming alcohol or caffeine acts as blood-thinner, and it will cause the skin to bleed, which increases the likelihood of heavy scabbing and premature fading. Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before the procedure. Please consult with your doctor for antivirals prior to starting service to avoid a break out.

Do not wax above your lips because it can be sore. Avoid tanning 1 week prior to your appointment. Discontinue Glycolics, Chemical Peels, Retin-A and any eyebrow growth serums on or near your lips 2 weeks prior to and after your appointment to avoid them from fading fast. If you use Botox, it should be performed 2 months prior to and 2 months after your appointment.
Everyone has a different level of sensitivity, so topical anesthetics can be applied during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort.
Lip Blush treatments are a two step process which include the initial appointment and a touch up appointment 6-12 weeks after. Within a week of your first treatment the color will fade as much as 30%. Most clients will need a second or third appointment to complete their desired look. Please book your touch up within 2 weeks after your initial appointment for your 6-12 weeks touch-up.
Aftercare ointment should be applied once a day for 7-10 days after 48 hours. Use a q-tip to gently apply a small amount of balm to each lip. If your lip is glossy due to excess ointment please pat the excess off. You want them to be hydrated, but not over saturated with balm. DO NOT apply ointment if you have OILY SKIN. Avoid water on the lip areas until the micro scabs naturally fall off. Do not get water on your lips during the healing phase. Do not scrub, scrap, rub or pick at any crust that forms, because this can cause scarring, and premature pigment loss. Allow the lips to heal in a timely manner and the micro scabs will fall off naturally on their own.

No working out or (excess sweating) for at least 10 days. No long hot showers or steam rooms for 10 days. Do not apply direct sun exposure to the lips, and please wear sunscreen once the area has healed completely to avoid fading. No swimming for 1 month in chlorine filled swimming pools, hot tubs, seawater, or bodies of water. Please try to sleep on your back, or sleep in a sitting position to avoid rubbing your lips on the pillow. Do not wear makeup or use any retinol near the treated area for 2 weeks. To extend the life of the procedure, avoid abrasive facial treatments and harsh facial products that may alter the color in the lip area.
